Czechia is exploring the possibility of establishing a "Ukrainian Legion," inspired by Poland's initiative.
According to Gromada.cz, citing iDNES.cz, the Czech Ministry of Defense is currently evaluating the Polish project from both practical and legal perspectives.
The concept involves Ukrainians undergoing training abroad, serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and then returning to the country where they reside.
In Czechia, as in Poland, participation in the training would be voluntary.
"The Ministry of Defense is gathering additional information from the Polish side regarding the formation of the so-called 'Ukrainian Legion.' Once we have this information, we will consider our options for involvement," said ministry spokesperson David Polak to iDNES.cz.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of the Interior, there are over 100,000 Ukrainian men aged 18 to 65 currently residing in Czechia.
