The Main Intelligence Directorate reported the hitting of the latest Russian Su-57 aircraft. This happened for the first time in history.

Main Intelligence Directorate informs about it.

"On June 8, at the airfield "Ahtubinsk" in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, located 589 kilometers from the front line, a multi-role fighter of the aggressor state Su-57 was hit," the report said.

According to intelligence data, this is evidenced by satellite images of the aircraft's parking lot at the enemy airfield.

"The images show that on June 7, the Su-57 is intact, and on June 8, there are blast craters and characteristic fire spots near it, resulting from fire impact," added Main Intelligence Directorate.

As noted by the Ukrainian Intelligence Agency, the Su-57 is Russia's most advanced fighter capable of using the Kh-59 and Kh-69 missiles for strikes.

Only a few units of these combat aircraft are in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.

"The hitting of the Su-57 is the first such case in history," the intelligence agency concludes.

The Su-57 is a Russian multirole fighter classified by Russia as a fifth-generation fighter. It is considered the most advanced and valuable adversary fighter. However, analysts note that the Su-57 does not fully meet fifth-generation characteristics.

The aircraft is designed to destroy all types of air targets, strike enemy ground and surface targets, monitor airspace from long distances, and disable enemy command centers, headquarters, and control systems. The first flight of the Su-57 took place in January 2010. In 2019, Russia announced the start of mass production of these aircraft, and in 2020, the first serial Su-57 was released.

According to Russian statements, this fighter can carry a wide range of guided and unguided bombs and missiles of small, medium, and long range. In particular, these fighters carry missiles such as the Kh-31, Kh-35, Kh-38, Kh-58, and Kh-59, which are often used by occupiers to shell Ukraine.

The defense forces in southern Ukraine stated that Russia has only six Su-57 aircraft, with an equal number of non-operational aircraft.
