Over 20 foreign components and more than 30 enterprises involved in production and supply of Russia’s new S8000 Banderol missile — details from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence.

The information was published by the agency on the War&Sanctions portal.

  • The missile was developed by the Kronshtadt company. Its primary carrier is the Orion UAV, also produced by Kronshtadt. Efforts are currently underway to adapt the missile for use with Mi-28N attack helicopters.
  • A key feature of the missile is its ability to make turns with a tighter radius than typical Russian-made cruise missiles (Kh-101, 3M-14, 9M727, Kh-69), while maintaining a cruise missile–like flight trajectory.
  • The “Banderol” carries a warhead weighing up to 150 kg and can travel up to 500 km at a speed of 500 km/h. It uses aviation kerosene as fuel.

Foreign components identified in its design include:

  • Siwin SW800Pro jet engine (China) – a model aircraft engine sold on online platforms (approximate cost on AliExpress: $16,000);
  • RFD900x telemetry module of Australian origin or its Chinese clone;
  • inertial navigation system, likely of Chinese origin;
  • Murata rechargeable batteries (Japan);
  • Dynamixel MX-64AR servos (Robotis, South Korea);
  • jam-resistant CRP antenna Kometa-M8 (Russia, VNIIR-Progress) – also used in “Gerans,” UMPCs, and UMPBs;
  • nearly two dozen microchips from manufacturers in the USA, China, Switzerland, Japan, and South Korea.
