Russian forces are preparing a provocation against the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. Ukrainians have been warned about possible fake news.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense on Telegram.

Intelligence has learned that a provocation is being prepared against the Coordination Headquarters, involving the distribution of forged documents.

According to Main Intelligence Directorate, the falsified materials do not meet official document standards, contain names of officials unrelated to the headquarters, and include fictitious regional unit names.

"These crudely falsified documents do not stand up to any scrutiny. The goal of such forgeries is to discredit state institutions and sow distrust," the report states.

Main Intelligence Directorate urges Ukrainians to remain vigilant, avoid spreading disinformation on social media, and not trust unverified individuals or organizations offering assistance.

"Any attempt to demand money for ‘services’ related to captured Ukrainians should be immediately reported to law enforcement. We emphasize that all assistance provided by Coordination Headquarters specialists is completely free of charge," intelligence officials stress.

It’s important to note that Russia's aggression against Ukraine is not only military but also includes hybrid warfare. Russian intelligence agencies actively create and spread fake news in Ukraine and among partner countries.

They use deepfake technology to produce videos aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s political and military leadership. Additionally, misinformation about mobilization, combat operations, and the military is frequently spread online.
