The Russian Federation continues to evacuate weapons, equipment, and personnel from Syria using military transport aircraft.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the MDI, on December 15, columns of occupying forces continued moving from deep within Syria to bases in Khmeimim and Tartus. The enemy still hopes to retain control over these locations.
Russian military transport aircraft have maintained shuttle flights from Syria to airfields in Russia, including Makhachkala, Chkalovsk, and Nizhny Novgorod.
"Russia has deployed Il-76MD aircraft from the 196th Military Transport Aviation Regiment, two Il-76MD aircraft from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and two An-124-100 aircraft from the 224th Flight Detachment, which belongs to the structure of the aggressor state's Ministry of Defense, to evacuate weapons, military equipment, and personnel," the Main Directorate of Intelligence added.
Following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Russia began withdrawing part of its troops from Syria. This has been confirmed by satellite imagery analyzed by experts. On December 14, Ukrainian intelligence reported that the occupying country is facing significant challenges in evacuating its soldiers from Syria.
