Russian invaders are attempting to bypass Pokrovsk on its flanks, but so far, they have not been able to encircle the city. This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the "Khortytsia" operational-strategic military group, during a TV broadcast.
"The enemy is trying to bypass Pokrovsk on its flanks, but so far, these attempts are being repelled fairly effectively," Trehubov said.
He also noted that Russian forces have started more actively shelling the city, "but it involves long-range strikes: various types of missiles, FPV drones."
"Unfortunately, the city is being hit, but their plan to encircle the city is still far from any practical implementation, though they are certainly trying hard. This is their main point of effort, and it has been so for quite some time," he added.
According to the spokesperson, the largest number of clashes is taking place near Pokrovsk.
