Russians have intensified assaults using armored vehicles in the area of the city of Selydove in Donetsk region. Ukrainian fighters are halting Russian attacks.
This was reported by Lieutenant Colonel of the 15th National Guard Brigade Kara-Dag, Vitalii Milovidov, during a television marathon.
He noted that there hasn’t been a single day without Russian assaults around Selydove in the area under the brigade’s responsibility.
"Every day, the enemy continues various degrees of infantry assaults. Their attempts to advance with armored vehicles have increased. In several cases, it was 2-3 units, and there were also attempts of a more massive assault involving 8 units of equipment, which were destroyed at the approaches to our positions," said the lieutenant colonel.
According to the military officer, the Russia’s most significant pressure came from the southern direction, specifically Tsukuryno-Ukrainsk, where they are trying to find a weak spot in the defense.
"Every day, the enemy tries to advance. But further south, a larger number of vehicles are involved. I believe that they are trying to pass through there because it is geographically more advantageous for them to use equipment. Since all their attempts to pass through this stretch of Mykhailivka, which almost no longer exists, are very difficult for them. There are open areas there, and we detect them quickly and deliver fire damage," Milovidov noted.
