Russian forces are attempting to establish a foothold in villages near the city of Pokrovsk and advance further.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops Khortytsia, Viktor Trehubov, in a TV interview.

"There are several small settlements near Pokrovsk, such as Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelenе, Promin, Novy Trud, etc. The Russians are trying to seize each house there and continue advancing," Trehubov noted.

He also mentioned that the Russian force are not advancing directly on Pokrovsk but are trying to partially encircle it and likely move toward a forest belt near the highway, which is part of the supply route to the city.

"I wouldn't say they've succeeded in this yet, but they are making significant efforts and have substantial resources, especially human, technical, and logistical," he added.

Trehubov also commented on the recent strike on the Russian command post in Novohrodivka, emphasizing that any strike causes difficulties for the Russians.

"It’s a logistical hub, a command point, and a concentration point for certain Russian forces. So, any damage there, at the very least, disrupts their logistics, organization, and command, even if no significant forces or assets were affected. In any case, such a strike is an important element in disrupting Russian logistics and organization," he concluded.
