Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the Inguar-4 armored recovery vehicle for service with the Defense Forces. The vehicle is designed to rapidly recover most domestically and foreign-made armored vehicles from the battlefield.
The Inguar-4 armored recovery and repair vehicle (ARV) was developed by a Ukrainian company specializing in the production of armored vehicles for a wide range of military missions.
It shares the same components and assemblies as the Inguar-3 armored vehicle, which has demonstrated high effectiveness in military operations for several years. However, the Inguar-4 features a reinforced frame, an additional drive axle, a powerful winch, and a hydraulic lifting and recovery system.
According to the Defense Ministry, the Inguar-4 successfully confirmed its declared tactical and technical characteristics during testing and demonstrated a high capability to recover armored vehicles under demanding combat conditions.
The ministry noted that the vehicle offers several advantages over the tracked armored recovery vehicles currently used by the Defense Forces, including higher recovery and road speeds, a longer operating range, no need for a trailer during transport, lower operating costs, simpler and less expensive maintenance, a lower acoustic signature, and greater battlefield survivability.
In addition, the crew experiences less fatigue during prolonged operations.
The Inguar-4 is capable of recovering Inguar-3, Roshel Senator, Kirpi, Kozak, Novator, Gyurza, International MaxxPro, and other vehicles weighing up to 30 tons from the battlefield.
The vehicle has a 6×6 wheel configuration specifically designed for demanding military missions.
Thanks to its unique design, powerful engine, and a number of innovative engineering solutions, the Inguar-4 achieves a higher maximum speed and greater mobility than other wheeled 8×8 armored recovery vehicles, including Ukraine's BREM-3BR and BREM-4M, as well as Canada's LAV Super Bison.
The Inguar-4 is equipped with multilayer armor made of Armox steel and aluminum elements. Its protection meets the STANAG 4569 Level 3 standard.
The vehicle is also fitted with blast-resistant seats, an automatic fire suppression system, heated armored glass, and non-flammable interior materials. Nearly 60% of the Inguar-4's chassis and suspension components are manufactured in Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the first Inguar-4 vehicles are already in service with Ukraine's Defense Forces.
