Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, in Kyiv.

"Your visit to Ukraine and your tour of Ukrainian cities during the war initiated by Russia is a testament to the high level of attention to our country. We highly appreciate the humanitarian aid provided and the active involvement of the Holy See in the process of returning deported Ukrainian children and prisoners," said Denys Shmyhal.

The parties discussed establishing a just peace for Ukraine, food security, the return of prisoners, and Ukrainian children. In this context, the Prime Minister thanked the Holy See for its participation in the First Peace Summit and its support for its decisions.

Denys Shmyhal also expressed gratitude for the assistance in treating Ukrainian children who have become victims of Russia's war of aggression. The Prime Minister hoped for the Holy See's participation and assistance in restoring medical infrastructure in Ukraine.
