The low effectiveness of Russia's missile carrier ships at sea has led the enemy to use them more as a distraction for Ukrainian air defense during large-scale missile attacks, according to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Speaking on a television broadcast, Pletenchuk emphasized that the threat remains present.

"We observe one cruise missile carrier in the sea. Additionally, it doesn’t take them much time to deploy, enter the sea, and launch missiles. We're talking about hours here. However, as practice shows, when there are one or two submarines at sea, especially if only one is a missile carrier, they’re not tasked with launching missiles. Their mission is usually to protect their base," he said.

Pletenchuk noted that even if they decide to launch missiles independently, rather than as part of a combined attack, the launches have proven to be ineffective.

"That’s why the enemy no longer uses them individually. Even when several missile carrier ships go to sea, it doesn’t necessarily mean there will be an attack. The current low effectiveness of these weapon systems has forced the enemy to use them more as a distraction for air defenses during massive missile strikes. So, we can say the situation remains stable for now," added the spokesperson.
