During the Russian attack on the night of September 8 in the Kyiv region, seven horses were killed. The animals died as a result of a drone strike on the pastures of one of the equestrian clubs.

This was reported on social media by Lesia Hordienko, Deputy Chair of the All-Ukrainian Federation of Equestrian Sports Tourism.

The horses that died included Malakhita, Ra Nazran, Bosfor, and Mak-Tum. Some of them were scheduled to compete soon in the Ukrainian Championship. Two horses survived – Holly and Manuel.

According to Lesia Hordienko, the stable was damaged but remained relatively intact. The building was warped, and doors and windows were blown out.

“The Shahed drones struck the pastures of the Endurance Horse Sport Club. Presumably, this is also considered a military target…” she added.

For reference, on the night of September 7, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukrainian cities, using 823 aerial attack systems, of which 751 targets were neutralized.
