The "Womanly Face of War" exhibition by Sunseed Art featuring the works of nine Ukrainian female poster artists has opened at the "French House" in Mexico City.

Each poster tells the stories of Ukrainian women during the war, as well as the stories of the artists themselves.

"War has no female face," said Belarusian Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich. We cannot agree with her because every day we see many female faces in this war. These include female soldiers, volunteers, mothers caring for their children and families, and women waiting for their husbands, sons, brothers, and daughters to return from the war. These are women living their daily routines amidst shelling and blackouts, supporting others and believing in Victory," commented the exhibition curator, Ukrainian artist and co-founder of Sunseed Art, Olesia Drashkaba.

The exhibition was opened by the EU Ambassador to Mexico, Mr. Jérôme Odin, and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Mexico, Ms. Oksana Dramaretska.

Opening the exhibition, Gautier Mignot said, "The Russian invasion of Ukraine is somewhat abstract to the public in Mexico and Latin America. Therefore, the expressions of artists about the daily reality they live in and how they react to this war create a more humane side that can touch and communicate with the Mexican public more than geopolitical discussions."
