On March 19, fighting was ongoing at the border between Ukraine and the Russian Belgorod region, as reported by Russian pro-war Telegram channels and the "Russian Volunteer Corps," among other volunteer formations fighting on the side of Ukraine, predominantly composed of Russians.
Fortuna, the head of the RDC (Russian Volunteer Corps), stated during a Ukrainian telethon on March 19 that "offensive actions and advances along the entire front line" continue in the border regions of Russia – the Kursk and Belgorod regions. A video of the battle allegedly filmed in the village of Kozinka, located near the border in the Belgorod region, was published on the RDC Telegram channel.
Last week, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian forces attempted to take this village, but the attack was repelled.
The Russian Telegram channel "Rybar" confirms that "clashes are ongoing in the Kozinka area," near the Temple of St. John the Theologian. This temple is located less than a kilometer from the border, on Russian territory. Other Russian military bloggers also report on the battle in the village.
Additionally, it is claimed that the district center of Grayvoron, located nearby, was shelled with barrage fire. After the shelling, there is no electricity in the area.
Overall, according to Mozhem Ob'yasnit, over the past week in the Belgorod region, 16 people have been killed and about 100 wounded as a result of shelling and fighting. According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, four people were injured today in the village of Rozumne after an air attack, for which he blamed the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Among the injured are two teenagers.
On the morning of March 19, Gladkov announced that 9,000 children would be evacuated from Belgorod and border areas of the region.
