On Monday, March 10, Finnish Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen visited Ukraine.

This was reported by the Finnish Ministry of Defense.

During the visit, Häkkänen met with representatives of the Ukrainian government and armed forces.

Meetings with officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry focused on cooperation between Finland and Ukraine.

The programme also included visits to defense industry enterprises and research centers.

"I was given a detailed overview of the situation in Ukraine and Russia's activities. Russia continues its full-scale offensive with support from its allies. Strengthening Ukraine's positions is crucial as peace negotiations begin," Häkkänen said.

He also emphasized Finland's long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine and working towards a strong and just peace in the country.

"Strengthening the defense industry of Ukraine and Europe as a whole is a central issue. Finland and Ukraine will deepen their defense cooperation. Our new internal industrial funding programme plays a key role in this," the Finnish minister stressed.

Häkkänen also laid a wreath at the memorial on Mykhailivska Square in memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and visited sites of past battles near Kyiv.

The visit was accompanied by Lieutenant General Vesa Virtanen, the Chief of the General Staff.
