Finland offered to rebuild the Chernihiv Region

Finland plans to take part in the reconstruction of the infrastructure destroyed during the hostilities in the Chernihiv region.

The deputy head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, informed about this on his Telegram channel after a meeting with the Ambassador of Finland Päivi Laine.

According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Chernihiv region needs to quickly restore 4,479 residential objects: 1,029 apartment buildings and 3,231 private houses.

Finland sincerely wants to help the Chernihiv region. Both the government and private companies are working on this project. We are ready to provide our partners with all the necessary information about objects that need to be restored. First of all, these are residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and utility networks.

The Finnish government will meet on Tuesday to discuss placing restrictions on tourist visas for Russian citizens in connection with its aggressive war against Ukraine.

The Baltic countries and Finland are actively lobbying for a tourist visa ban for Russians. The Czech Republic, which took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in July, has supported this idea.
