Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that NATO demonstrated its determination and unity after his country shot down Russian drones that violated its airspace.
He told members of the Polish parliament, citing TVP World.
“NATO has passed the test. NATO has not succumbed to Russian pressure; NATO has demonstrated its unity,” Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed.
The minister spoke of concrete support from European allies, including the accelerated delivery of Patriot batteries from the Netherlands and the deployment of 300 troops.
In addition, he said, the Czech Republic will send three Mi-17 helicopters with experienced crews and around 100 soldiers, while France and the United Kingdom will deploy Rafale and Eurofighter aircraft to strengthen the security of NATO’s eastern flank.
“Never since World War II has there been such an operation,” the Polish defense minister noted.
