France will deliver to Ukraine six new ROCUS robotic demining systems, developed by the Estonian Milrem Robotics together with the French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels.
These machines, created on the basis of the Estonian tracked THeMIS platform, are funded by the French government and will be handed over to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The systems are intended for remote detection and neutralization of mines and unexploded ordnance, allowing sappers to work from a safe distance and significantly reducing the risk during territory clearance and ammunition transportation.
The ROCUS complex combines the battle-tested THeMIS platform and the French route-clearing module, enabling effective action in dangerous environments—from mined roads to agricultural plots.
According to various estimates, the new batch will bring the total number of THeMIS platforms delivered to Ukraine to more than two or three dozen units.
According to the manufacturer, the systems have already proven their reliability and have become an important tool in the restoration and clearing of destroyed infrastructure.
THeMIS is currently in service or development in 19 countries, according to Milrem Robotics, and is considered the most widely adopted unmanned ground vehicle in its weight class. The system has been used for logistics, surveillance, and route clearance operations in multiple operational theaters.
