LLC Agro KMR is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The company was founded by French citizens in 2006. They started with 2,000 hectares of land and now cultivate 21,000 hectares. They grow wheat, sunflower, rapeseed, barley, sorghum, and durum wheat for pasta production. The company has built its own elevator with a capacity of 20,000 tons, consisting of five metal silos.
In 2015, the company was led by French citizen Clément Cousin, who had always wanted to work on the land and, on the advice of his family, decided to do so in Ukraine.
"Since the start of the full-scale war, I have not left once. Our company has not stopped working for a single day. Our employees said they would continue working, so we worked. I even built myself a small house on our base, so I could be here 24/7 during the hardest times. Fortunately, during the shelling, our infrastructure was not damaged," says Clément Cousin.
After the full-scale invasion, Agro KMR, like most Ukrainian farmers, faced logistical challenges.
"To make it easier for us to work, in the first year of the war, we bought our own grain truck," explains Clément Cousin.
In 2024, a new problem emerged—drought. Last year, Agro KMR managed to survive thanks to the support of its partners and the state.
When asked about future plans, Clément Cousin says:
"We continue to work. We support our employees—those who work directly with us, and now there are 98 people, as well as those who went to the front to defend Ukraine."
