French Spring: Film concert: French avant-garde. Music by Anton Baibakov

The grand finale of the French Spring Festival 2021 will take place on July 8 at the open-air stage of Green Theatre.

Film concert “French avant-garde. Anton Baibakov’s Music” consists of 3 films, including “Mechanical Ballet” by Fernand Leger and Dudley Murphy, “Diary of a Pregnant Woman” by Agnes Varda’s New Wave and “Blood of the Poet” by the multifaceted Jean Cocteau.

The unique format of the film concert includes the screening of these films with specially created music by contemporary composer Anton Baibakov. The contemporary Ukrainian artist is the author of soundtracks to films of recent years, which have been widely successful by film critics and the Ukrainian public.

Anton Baibakov is one of the most popular contemporary Ukrainian composers. Born in 1983 in Kyiv, he graduated from the Faculty of Film and Television with a degree in sound engineering at the Kyiv National University named after Karpenko-Kary. He received the SACEM Grand Prix (Society of Music Authors, Composers and Publishers) for the best musical accompaniment to the feature film “November” (2014) at the International Film Festival in Aubagne (France) and the prize for the best musical composition for the film ” Vulcan “(2018) at the International Film Festival” November “(Minsk)”.

The tour of the project will take place in 6 Ukrainian cities, whose residents will be able to see these films accompanied by music by Anton Baibakov performed by Alexandra Morozova, Sergei Demyanchuk, Sofia Baibakova and the author himself.

The concert will take place as part of the festival “French Spring in Ukraine 2021” with the support of the Embassy of France in Ukraine and the French Institute in Ukraine.
