The Ukrainian company “General Cherry” has joined the production of Octopus interceptor drones under a license from the Ministry of Defense.
“We support the initiative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and are preparing to sign the agreement. Octopus is a technology for intercepting Shaheds, developed by Ukrainian military engineers with support from British specialists. The technology has already proven effective in combat conditions,” the company noted.
The Octopus concept is to provide the Armed Forces with a cheap and technologically simple tool against Shaheds, reducing the load on expensive air‑defense systems and improving air‑defense cost efficiency.
It was previously reported that the technical documentation for Octopus had been transferred to the first three manufacturers, while another eleven enterprises are preparing their production lines.
Ukrainian and British defense delegations have also signed a licensing agreement that will allow Octopus interceptor drones to be manufactured in the United Kingdom.
