General Staff: Russian army concentrates main efforts in four directions

Throughout the past week, more than 1,300 combat clashes occurred on the frontline, with Russian forces concentrating their main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Kurakhiv, Lyman, and Kupyansk directions, according to the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalov, who reported this during the United News telethon.

"Over the past week, 1,315 combat clashes took place. Russian occupiers continue to focus their main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Kurakhiv, Lyman, and Kupyansk directions, where intense fighting continues," Kovalov said.

He added that on the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 376 attacks over the week, while 289 attacks were repelled on the Kurakhiv direction.

On the Kupyansk direction, 125 attacks were repelled over the week, while 156 attacks were thwarted on the Lyman front.

According to the General Staff, on the Toretsk direction, 104 unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian military positions were recorded.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces carried out 34 attacks last week, with 48 attacks on the Siversk direction, and 60 in the Kramatorsk sector.

Additionally, the Defense Forces repelled 76 attacks on the Vremivka front and 10 on the Orikhiv front.

Kovalov also noted that on the Prydniprovsk direction, the Russian forces attempted to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions but carried out 37 unsuccessful attacks.

According to the General Staff, over the past week, Russian forces launched 19 missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, using 80 missiles, and carried out 550 airstrikes, including dropping 727 guided bombs. Russian forces fired approximately 30,000 shells, 859 of which came from multiple-launch rocket systems.

"Total Russian forces losses for the past week amounted to 8,960 personnel," Kovalov added.
