As of 29 October, Russia's total personnel losses in combat this month have reached 49,040, the highest monthly figure since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
The General Staff recalled that the previous highest monthly figure was recorded in December 2024, when Russian forces lost 48,670 personnel.
Russia's average daily personnel losses in October currently stand at approximately 1,750.
"Russian army losses are steadily increasing: 26,090 personnel in February 2026, 46,230 in September, and 49,040 in October (as of 29 October)," the General Staff stated.
The military emphasised that this trend is significant because the rate of Russian personnel losses exceeds the country's ability to replenish its units, making each successive month of the war increasingly costly for the Russian army.
