The State Border Service of Ukraine received powerful generators from the Kingdom of Norway.
This is only the first batch of such assistance from Norwegian partners. Additional generators and personal protective equipment are also expected to be delivered in 2023.
Such assistance is provided to Ukrainian border guards as part of cooperation with the Agency for Radiation Safety of the Kingdom of Norway. The received generators will help Ukrainian border guards, despite Russia's energy terror, to effectively carry out their functions at the border, including countering the illegal movement of materials that may carry radiation, chemical, bacteriological or nuclear threats. In addition, the autonomy of border guards in using means of control, which require a stationary power supply or recharging, will increase.
It is worth noting that with the beginning of the full-scale war, the Agency for Radiation Safety of the Kingdom of Norway, which is a long-term partner of the State Border Service of Ukraine in the field of radiation safety, has already transferred a significant amount of assistance to the state border protection units, in particular, dosimetric equipment, means of communication equipment, etc.
The State Border Service of Ukraine continues the implementation of the joint international technical assistance project with the Agency for Radiation Safety of the Kingdom of Norway. It is focused on the further development of such cooperation.
