German intelligence agencies reported an increase in the activity of Russian agents in the country, as reported by N-tv.
The President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, emphasized that Russia has intensified hybrid and covert measures directed against Germany. According to him, the number of espionage and sabotage cases from Russia has increased, both in quantity and quality.
Particular attention is being paid to attempts at espionage concerning the German army.
The President of the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD), Martin Rosenberg, noted that Russian agents are trying to obtain information about the supply of German weapons to Ukraine, as well as training and armament projects. Sabotage aimed at creating a sense of insecurity is also being recorded.
These actions are causing serious concern among German authorities, especially in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
