The defense ministers of Germany and the United Kingdom have taken over the chairmanship of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the 'Ramstein' format, with the next meeting scheduled for late March to early April.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this at a press conference following his meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Thursday in Berlin.

"My British colleague John Healey and I have decided that we will jointly co-chair the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which will continue its work under our leadership," he said.

Pistorius emphasized that a key topic of discussion today and in the coming weeks is "compensating for U.S. aid to Ukraine that has already been canceled or may be canceled in the future."

He also recalled that Germany has allocated approximately €4 billion from its budget this year to support Ukraine and stressed that German supplies remain consistent and reliable.

"I would like to reiterate: when we announce deliveries or allocate funds, we ensure that they are actually provided," the German defense minister stated.
