The Rheinmetall Group has received an order from the German government to produce approximately 100,000 artillery shells for Ukraine.

This information was reported by the company's press service.

This contract for the production of artillery ammunition was part of a military aid package totaling 400 million euros for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The contract, valued at "hundreds of millions of euros," includes the delivery of approximately 100,000 120mm artillery shells. The deliveries are expected to commence shortly and continue over the next two years, which means the average monthly supply may be slightly more than 4,000 rounds.

The exact nomenclature of the ordered ammunition is currently unknown. Rheinmetall and its subsidiary companies manufacture a wide range of ammunition of this caliber, including fragmentation, smoke, and incendiary shells.

In its announcement, the manufacturer mentioned that through the acquisition of the Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal, Rheinmetall significantly bolstered its capabilities in this field.
