Last year, DTEK, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, updated more than 14,000 km of power lines of various voltage classes and over 6,000 energy facilities, which is 80% more than in 2023. The investment amounted to over 4.5 billion UAH.

This was reported by DTEK.

"Modern power grids are the foundation of a resilient energy system and uninterrupted electricity supply. Therefore, even in wartime conditions, DTEK Networks' OSP continues to modernize, rebuild old, and construct new energy facilities. All this to ensure the most reliable electricity supply possible. In 2024, DTEK Networks' OSP invested over 4.5 billion UAH within the framework of its repair and investment program," said Alina Bondarenko, CEO of DTEK Networks.

It was noted that to prevent accidents and create additional capacity for electricity consumption, DTEK energy specialists repaired 13.8 thousand km of power lines, 5.8 thousand energy facilities, and cleared nearly 10 thousand km of power line routes from bushes.

As part of the investment programme approved by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NERC), DTEK's OSP modernized more than 350 km of power lines and reinforced over 350 substations, transformer and distribution points. This improved the quality and reliability of electricity supply for more than 450,000 households in Odessa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions, and the capital.

Additionally, energy workers installed more than 213,000 smart electricity meters in customers' homes. These devices automatically transmit readings and help save 50% on electricity consumption at night by accounting for electricity separately during day and night hours.
