In total, about 90 thousand Ukrainians found work in German cities.

Ukrainians seeking asylum due to the full-blown invasion by the Russian Federation have helped relieve pressure on the German labor market. An increase in the number of Ukrainian workers is expected in the coming weeks and months.

According to Daniel Terzenbach, board member of the Federal Employment Agency, since February last year in Germany, the number of Ukrainians who are officially employed, which means they pay social insurance contributions, has increased by 65,000 people. At the same time, about 21 thousand more citizens of Ukraine are employed in the so-called mini-jobs, where the salary is up to 450 euros per month, which allows them to receive social benefits. The influx of Ukrainians helps fight the shortage of personnel.

In addition, Terzenbach believes that in the coming weeks and months, the number of Ukrainian workers will increase because many will complete integration and professional language courses. He pointed out that many Ukrainians intend to stay in Germany for a long time and learn German.

"We see a very high level of motivation, to the point that they overpay taxes," - said a representative of the board of the Federal Employment Agency in an interview with DPA.

He also pointed out that the number of men of working age from Ukraine began to increase. At the same time, Terzenbach believes that the need to care for children can become a problem for the integration of Ukrainians into the labor market in Germany.

The UN has calculated that about 4.8 million refugees from Ukraine remain in Europe - in Poland (1.5 million), Germany (900 thousand), and the Czech Republic (500 thousand). At the same time, most Ukrainians abroad were able to adapt to other countries. So, in Poland, almost everyone could find a job.
