Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has suggested transferring Russian-made weapons, captured by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), to Ukraine. The Ukrainian side hopes for a positive decision on the matter.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel on Facebook.

According to the embassy, Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Kornichuk, met with Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel.

"During the meeting, the ambassador thanked his interlocutor for the proposal to transfer Russian-made weapons, captured by the IDF in Lebanon or elsewhere from Israel's enemies, to Ukraine. This initiative is an important step in recognizing the common threats both countries face. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a positive decision on this issue," the diplomatic mission reported.

The two sides also discussed current shared challenges for Ukraine and Israel, particularly the military cooperation between Iran and Russia. The ambassador emphasized that countering such threats aligns with the interests of both countries.

Additionally, the ambassador and the deputy head of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed the activation of high-level bilateral contacts, as well as cooperation in economic, consular, and humanitarian areas.
