At the Gazpromneft-Omsk Oil Refinery in Omsk, a powerful explosion occurred. The refinery is located 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This is reported by the Telegram channel 112.

According to the publication, there was a strong explosion and fire at the AVT-11 unit. Witnesses say the explosion was heard in several districts of the city.

"The fire covers an area of 1,000 square meters. Fifteen fire brigades are working on-site. No evacuation of the facility has been conducted," the report states. As a result of the fire at the Omsk Oil Refinery, two people were injured and received assistance on-site, according to the company's press service.

The Omsk Oil Refinery is one of the largest refining enterprises in Russia, located in Omsk and owned by Gazprom Neft. The refinery employs 3,600 people.

Overall, the refinery produces about 50 types of oil products: high-octane gasoline, diesel and marine fuels, aviation fuel, bitumen, domestic gas, technical sulfur, and other products for the Russian military.
