Polish border guards have detained a 41-year-old Russian military deserter on the border with Belarus, who attempted to move further west through Poland. The detained Russian was dressed in civilian clothing and did not have any weapons with him, RMF.FM reports.

According to the publication, everything indicates that the Russian was trying to illegally enter Poland from Belarus while fleeing the front. He had Russian military documents with him, including a contract with the Russian army indicating his participation in combat operations against Ukraine.

To enter Poland, he used an illegal migration channel organized by the Lukashenko regime, primarily used by foreigners from the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

The Polish special services are currently investigating the Russian deserter. The Polish Border Guard Service on social media platform X has confirmed the detention of the Russian deserter.

"This is a 41-year-old man who illegally crossed the border from Belarus to Poland. Further actions are being taken regarding him," the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Poland reported.

At the moment, there is no information regarding whether he has applied for international protection in Poland. It should be noted that military documents were found on him, including a contract with the army for participation in armed actions against Ukraine. This indicates that he voluntarily went to the front.

The actions of the Border Guard - including interrogations and administrative procedures - are of great interest to the Internal Security Agency (ABW), whose officers are cooperating with the border guards in this matter.
