The Ukrainian state budget proposal for 2025 allocates over 55 billion UAH for the production of weapons and military equipment.
This was announced by Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, on Telegram.
"During the government meeting, the 2025 State Budget proposal was supported. Over 55 billion UAH has been allocated for the production of weapons and military equipment in total. This is more than was allocated this year," the statement reads.
Of this amount, 54.55 billion UAH is earmarked for the development, research, and implementation of new technologies, as well as the expansion of production capacity for defense products. Smetanin reminded that in 2024, the amount allocated for these expenses was about 51 billion UAH.
Additionally, 500 million UAH has been allocated for the 2025 program offering affordable loans to defense enterprises. This program, introduced this year, allows manufacturers to take loans at a 5% annual interest rate, with the remaining interest covered by the state budget.
The draft law On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025 is now prepared for its second reading in the Verkhovna Rada.
