In the village of Melenki in the Moscow region, an unknown assailant shot and killed 44-year-old Nikita Klenkov, a high-ranking GRU officer who had returned from the war in Ukraine a week ago, as reported by Important Stories.

According to media reports, Klenkov was the deputy commander of a military unit and served in a special forces division.

The deceased, according to leaks, served in military unit 43292 — the Center for Special Operations Training. The man was registered at the address of this center in the city of Ssolnechnogorsk-2. Some users in their phones have him listed as "Klenkov Nikita Alexandrovich SSO" and "SSO MO RF 92XXX."

According to geolocation data from leaks, Klenkov ordered "Yandex delivery" food to the GRU headquarters and also visited a clinic located near the GRU building.

The man owned a Hyundai Palisade — he was shot in a vehicle of the same model. The location of Klenkov's murder is less than a 20-minute drive from the Special Operations Training Center.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are looking into possible motives and circumstances surrounding the crime.
