At the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, a meeting was held with font designers regarding the development of a unique Ukrainian font for business documentation. Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostyslav Karandeyev took part in the online meeting.

"The task of creating a Ukrainian national font is still relevant. The goal is simple: we need to update the font for official documents of government bodies, including orders, directives, laws, etc. Currently, Times New Roman is used for this purpose, but we would like something of our own - more original and modern," emphasized the Acting Minister.

At the same time, the meeting participants noted that there are currently at least four ready-made fonts in Ukraine developed by domestic designers that are suitable for use in documents.

Following the meeting, experts decided to form a wide range of proposals in two groups: business fonts for texts and fonts for headings for decorative design of official documents.

In the future, experts will select the two or three best fonts and propose them to government agencies. It is expected that eventually, the new font will be used in all official communications in the country.
