In Zakarpattia, 300 MW of renewable energy generation capacity has already been created.
This was reported in a comment to a Ukrinform correspondent during a conversation at the Re:Open Zakarpattia development forum by Myroslav Biletsky, head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration.
"As of November 2024, the region has 300 MW of capacity for electricity generation from renewable sources, including wind, solar, and hydropower," he reported.
Biletsky also mentioned that the first wind turbines have already been installed in the mountainous area of the Nyzhniy Voritytskyi hromada.
"One wind turbine is operational, generating 4.8 MW per hour, and the second one, which will produce 5.2 MW, is on the way," he added.
Additionally, the region plans to launch 50 MW of gas generation capacity by the end of the year.
"We have already purchased several 20 MW units, and installation is underway in Svaliava and Uzhhorod. Our goal is to have approximately 50 MW of gas generation operational by the end of the year," the head of the head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration said.
