Investors in renewable energy are urging Ukrainian lawmakers to consider and adopt draft law No. 11455, which would accelerate the construction of wind power plants through tax incentives.

This was stated by Andrii Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, who recalled that the draft law was registered back in July 2024.

Konechenkov explained that the draft law proposes exempting wind energy equipment imported into Ukraine from VAT and import duties.

"If we exempt wind energy installations from import duties and VAT, we would speed up the import of wind turbines into Ukraine and accelerate construction," Konechenkov said.

He emphasized that canceling VAT payments does not reduce tax revenues to the state budget, as the government eventually reimburses them.

Konechenkov stressed the importance of rapidly building wind power plants, as they are less vulnerable to shelling compared to other types of power generation.

He also believes that developing wind farms would improve energy security for military enterprises, thereby strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
