Iraqi Foreign Minister announced Baghdad’s readiness to become a mediator between Ukraine and Russia

Recall that today Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba is on a working visit to Baghdad.

Iraq is ready to become an intermediary between Ukraine and the Russian Federation to end the war.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated this, reports Al Sumaria.

Iraq is ready to step up the role of the contact group and decide to participate as a mediator in order to lay the groundwork for negotiations between the parties whenever a Russian or Ukrainian side asks for direct intervention in order to become a party to achieving peace in the zone of ongoing hostilities there.

Fuad Hussein

Note that Iraq has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Ukraine. However, at the same time, Baghdad did not occupy any parties in the war, taking neutrality.
