On the night of April 27, 2024, Russian forces launched a combined missile strike on Ukraine using various types of missiles.
This was reported by the commander of the Air Forces, Mykola Oleshchuk.
In total, the Russian forces launched 34 air, ground, and sea-based missiles:
• 9 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area: Saratov region, Russia);
• 9 guided aviation missiles Kh-59/Kh-69 (from the airspace of Belgorod region and the Azov Sea);
• 2 S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles (from the area of Belgorod region, Russia);
• 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles (from the Ukrainian Crimea territory);
• 4 aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" from MiG-31K aircraft (launches from the airspace of Ryazan and Tambov region, Russia);
• 8 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea.
Fighter aircraft, air defense missile units, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare assets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were engaged in repelling the Russian air attack. As a result of the air battle, 21 aerial targets were destroyed:
• 6 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles;
• 8 guided aviation missiles Kh-59/Kh-69;
• 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
• 6 Kalibr cruise missiles.
