Five ambulances, purchased through the combined efforts of Ukrainian communities in the Milan deanery and Italian philanthropists, have been sent to Ukraine to support medical teams.
The announcement was made by the Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Italy.
The initiative, organized by Father Yurii Ivaniuta, parish priest of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Novara, brought together communities from Pavia, Brescia, Gallarate, Mortara, Sanremo, as well as faithful from Borgomanero, Arona, Borgosesia, Domodossola, and other donors. Italian institutions and philanthropists also actively participated, including the Fondazione Comunitaria della Valle D’Aosta, Associazione Iris ODV, Rotary Club Lunigiana Pontremoli, Forum per i diritti dei bambini, and private benefactors.
The ambulances were blessed by Father Volodymyr Misterman, protopresbyter of the Milan deanery, and Father Andrii Kozak, a chaplain from Alessandria.
After the blessing, the convoy set off for Khmelnytskyi, from where the vehicles will be delivered to medics to save the lives of Ukrainian defenders and civilians.
“We must not grow tired,” said Father Yurii Ivaniuta. “Every good deed done with love heals wounds and brings us closer to a shared victory over evil. In unity, prayer, and sacrifice, we not only help Ukraine — we heal its heart, we tend its wounds. Together we are strong and capable of accomplishing great things for the good of our people.”
