The National Military Medical Clinical Center "Main Military Clinical Hospital" has received a modern ultrasound diagnostic system CANON Aplio i700. This became possible through the collaboration of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmikova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General of the Medical Service Anatoliy Kazmirchuk, Chief of the National Military Medical Clinical Center "Main Military Clinical Hospital" Colonel of the Medical Service Oleg Kolisnyk, and UNOPS Director in Ukraine Tim Lardner.

"As we all know, technology changes lives - both on the battlefield and in the hospital. On the battlefield, technology allows the Ukrainian army to prevail. In hospital conditions, technology in the hands of medical professionals saves the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. Thanks to your efforts, our doctors can determine the most optimal ways to provide assistance, taking into account the individual characteristics of the injury. We are grateful for the unwavering support of Ukraine and dedication to the cause of preserving lives. We look forward to continuing our future cooperation," emphasized Natalia Kalmikova during the medical equipment handover.

As part of the project, five units of state-of-the-art medical equipment were handed over. Two other military medical institutions in Ukraine, the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Southern Region and the military medical institution in Starokostiantyniv, also received the equipment.

"This joint project is an important step in strengthening Ukraine's healthcare infrastructure, reflecting Japan's commitment to humanitarian efforts and bilateral cooperation. Thanks to the Japanese-made equipment supplied to the institutions, Ukraine will be able to treat approximately 15,500 wounded and injured servicemen annually," noted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda.

Tim Lardner, Director of UNOPS in Ukraine, highlighted the impact of the project: "Our cooperation with the Government of Japan has not only allowed us to provide the necessary medical equipment but also to ensure comprehensive training for medical workers, contributing to the sustainable development of the healthcare system."
