Japan intends to enlist the support of the private sector to continue its long-term assistance to Ukraine, which is resisting Russia's large-scale military aggression.

This was stated by Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, as reported by NHK.

According to the head of the foreign diplomatic office, involving the private sector is "of great significance for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine."

As Kamikawa stated ahead of the Japanese-Ukrainian conference on promoting economic growth and reconstruction, which will take place in Tokyo on February 18, achieving these goals will require long-term efforts aimed at rebuilding the country and providing means for its people to survive.

The Japanese Foreign Minister promised that Tokyo would make constant efforts, encompassing various sectors.

Kamikawa also expressed support for incorporating the "Women, Peace, and Security" (WPS) concept into reconstruction plans. This project emphasizes the active involvement of women in conflict prevention and peacebuilding efforts.

The publication also notes that at the conference in Tokyo, Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Japan, Denys Shmyhal and Fumio Kishida, will join representatives of around 130 companies from both countries. They will discuss plans for bilateral cooperation in seven areas, including agriculture and infrastructure.
