The KFC fast-food chain will begin opening restaurants in medium-sized regional cities with populations of 50,000–100,000 people.
The first location will be in Kolomyia, according to LIGA.net, citing the press service of Ukrainian KFC franchisees (LLC “Testi Food,” LLC “Global Restaurant Group – Ukraine,” LLC “DTS-Kharkiv”).
KFC already has restaurants in smaller towns, but these are typically suburbs of larger cities (for example, Sokilnyky, Hostomel, Vyshhorod, Sofiivska Borshchahivka).
“Kolomyia is included in the updated 2025 investment program, which provides for balanced geographic expansion not only in regional centers but also in promising towns with populations of 50,000–100,000. We chose Kolomyia because we see significant potential for brand development in the city. It is an active regional city with strong commercial dynamics, stable traffic, and growing demand for modern services,” KFC stated.
The KFC in Kolomyia will be located in the Galeria Korzo shopping center.
By the end of 2025, the company also plans to open at least two more locations: in Ternopil and in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region.
“We expect the new locations to show positive results from the first months of operation,” KFC added.
As of September 2025, KFC operates 68 restaurants in Ukraine, 20 of which opened after the start of the full-scale invasion. In 2025, Ukrainian franchisees opened four new restaurants, two of them on August 22 and August 28 in Odessa.
According to KFC, each restaurant creates about 25 jobs, providing employment opportunities for young people and professionals in the region.
