Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal considers Russian propaganda claims about the success of Russia’s economy to be a bluff and opposes any easing of pressure on the Russian Federation.
He stated this during a session of the Estonian parliament, the Riigikogu, ERR.ee reports.
According to the Estonian Prime Minister, Moscow has not changed any of its original goals: the Kremlin still seeks to seize the entire territory of Ukraine and rewrite Europe’s security architecture.
“We have no reason whatsoever to ease pressure on Russia. On the contrary — pedal to the floor and more courage,” Michal stressed, noting that the war is won not only on the battlefield but also through financial resources.
The Prime Minister criticized the pace of political processes in the European Union, saying the EU is moving far too slowly on enlargement. He emphasized that Ukraine is actively implementing reforms to speed up the accession process, while Moldova and several other countries have also firmly chosen the European path.
“Enlargement is our geopolitical necessity. The wider the spread of European values, the safer and more prosperous the world becomes,” he said.
