The Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia has decided to allocate €50,000 from the state budget for a contribution to the humanitarian aid program "Grain from Ukraine."

This information is reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

"The full-scale war by Russia against Ukraine contributes to a crisis in global food security, especially in countries with existing food shortages. Contributions to the Grain from Ukraine program help Ukraine's efforts to contribute to global food security, which is one element of the peace formula proposed by Ukraine," the statement says.

This marks Latvia's second contribution to the program; in 2022, a financial contribution of €50,000 was also provided.
