Lithuania has imposed sanctions on Georgian officials involved in suppressing protests. The sanctions list includes 11 individuals, such as Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, and Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.
Also on the list are senior officials from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, including:
- First Deputy Minister Shalva Bedoidze
- Deputy Ministers Ioseb Chelidze, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, and Giorgi Butkhuzi
- Head of the Department for Special Assignments Zviad Kharazishvili (also sanctioned by the US)
- Deputy Heads of the Department for Special Assignments Mileri Lagazauri and Mirza Kezevadze (both also under US sanctions)
- Director of the Patrol Police Department Vaja Siradze
- Director of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Teimuraz Kupatadze
These individuals are now banned from entering Lithuania. Previously, the Estonian Foreign Minister stated that the Baltic states were planning to impose sanctions on those responsible for the suppression of protests in Georgia.
