Lithuania will assist Ukraine in the process of reforming its military education system. This was discussed during a meeting involving Ukraine's First Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Minister of Defense Nataliia Kalmikova, and Strategic High-Level Advisor from the Republic of Lithuania, retired Major General Vitalijus Vaišnoras.

Ivan Havryliuk emphasized the importance of reforming military education and training based on combat experience. He highlighted the need for training to reflect the realities faced by military personnel in the field.

"We are interested in your vision for changes aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of officer training and military personnel education," he said.

Nataliia Kalmikova, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, briefed on the implementation of reforms in the recruitment, development, and retention of human capital in the Armed Forces. She mentioned the adoption of a law on specific issues related to military service, mobilization, and military accounting, which includes the introduction of new systems for basic military training and service.

Representative Vitalijus Vaišnoras from Lithuania noted his country's support for Ukraine in reforming military education, sharing Lithuania's experience in conducting international independent audits and developing reform plans.

The parties discussed practical aspects of cooperation, including audits and recommendations regarding the military education system, training, personnel management, and motivation of servicemen. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation and pursue joint programs in the field of military education, training, and personnel management.
