Co-chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus and Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur urged U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to build a relationship with Ukraine that would help the country win its fight for freedom.

The influential U.S. lawmaker made the remarks during a congressional hearing on Tuesday, as reported by Kaptur’s official account on X.

“Ukraine has been at war for more than a decade. What they've done with drones is astounding, and it's going to change warfare,” the congresswoman emphasized.

She noted that one of her questions to the U.S. Secretary of Defense during the hearing was “what he's doing to establish relations with Ukraine and not turn our back on them as an Administration.”

In this context, she stressed: “we must help Liberty win..”

The congresswoman underscored that Ukraine’s struggle is important for the entire free world, noting that the country is defending civilized values in a confrontation with a state that spans 11 time zones.

“This is the most important test of freedom defense for NATO allies in my lifetime. And we’d better help achieve victory,” Marcy Kaptur emphasized.
