“Mariupolis 2” won a prize of the European Film Academy as the best documentary film of the year

The film “Mariupolis 2” by the Lithuanian documentarian Mantas Kvedaravičius won an award of the European Film Academy as the best documentary film of the year.
[The film] portrays life amid the bombings with great power and sensitivity and reveals images that combine tragedy and hope.

“Mariupolis 2” is the sequel to “Mariupolis” (2015), which Kvedaravičius started making after the start of the full-scale invasion. During filming, the director was shot by the Russian military. Relatives and colleagues of Kvedaravičius completed the work on the film.
