On the night of February 27, 2025 (starting from 20:00 on February 26), the enemy launched an attack using 166 Shahed strike UAVs and decoy drones of various types from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, air defense missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 09:00, 90 Shahed strike UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed shot down over the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Odessa regions.
72 decoy drones were lost from radar tracking (without negative consequences).
As a result of the attack, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions suffered damage.
